There's no other place that I'd rather be
Right here, right now
Watching the world wake up from history
— Jesus Jones
I've always had a fascination with sci-fi and the future, but my entire perspective on life changed when I learned about the accelerating pace of the evolution of technology and something called the Technological Singularity from a guy named Ray Kurzweil on a website named TED. The idea is controversial, but I realized that even if the singularity never happens humanity may be on the brink of an unimaginable leap in the evolution of consciousness.
Since then I've spent hours every day voraciously devouring news, commentary, videos and podcasts about technology and the future of humanity. Over the past five years I estimate I've spent about 600 hours a year hunting down interesting news related to the future. I decided to put all that effort into creating something useful and doing some good in this world.
To be alive at this time on this planet and to be able to witness the metamorphosis of humanity as it unfolds is just utterly miraculous to me. The next 40 years are going to be a wild ride. Hang on tight. I'll see you in the future.
